Welcome to the Baltschug Kempinski hotel

General Information
"Moscow", those syllables can start a tumult in the Russian heart." So said Russian's greatest poet Alexander Pushkin. And Moscow may well start a tumult in many other hearts, now that Russia is no longer closed to international travellers. Visitor from all over the world are already experiencing the culture, the beauty and architectural heritage of the historic city of Moscow, situated on the banks of the Moskva River. Perched on those mighty banks and standing right at the city's cultural and historic centre, The Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow holds court in regal splendour. Just yards away the evocative onion domes of St. Basil's Cathedral, Red Square, the Kremlin and the famous GUM department store reflect the fin de cycle elegance which existed at the turn of the century. The edifice of the present day Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow has always been a guest house of some description - an inn for merchants and traders, or a rooming house. Between 1928 and 1932 it operated as the Hotel Novomoscovskaya, and later became the Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow. Now the hotel's 100 year old classic facade is all that remains of the original building, which dated back to 1898 and the reign of Tsar Nicolas II.
